푼힐(3,210m)에서 기대했던 일출 광경을 보지 못한 우리는 롯지로 돌아와 아침식사를 하고 예정보다 늦은 9시 30분에 산장을 떠나 지루하고 기나긴 트레킹이 시작했다. 산장의 뒷 마당을 통해서 산길로 접어들었다. 오르막 길로 접어들면서 어제 무리했던지 허리와 다리에 통증이 온다. 걱정이다. 한시간쯤 올랐을 때 다시 푼힐 보다 낮은 산(3,180미터) 정상에 이르니 하늘이 개이는 것 같았다. 푼힐에서 볼 수 없었던 설산이 보인다. 고개를 높이 들어야 볼 수 있을 정도로 산은 하늘 높이 걸려있었다.
We returned to our lodge with a disappointment for not being able to see the white peaks. After breakfast at the lodge we packed our stuff and left the lodge at 9:45AM for a day long trekking of the day. When we reached another 3,180 meter high peak we could see the peaks between the coulds.
산정상에서 안나푸르나 연봉 감상도 잠시 우리는 다시 하산길을 재촉했다. 오늘 내려가는 길이 만만치 않아 시간이 많이 걸리기 때문이다. 산의 북사면에 길이 나있어 몹시 미끄러워 아이젠을 착용해야 했다. 아이젠을 착용했어도 두번이나 미끄러졌다.
데우랄리에 11시40분 도착 산행을 계속 1시 45분에 반단티(3,180m)에 도착 점심식사를 했다. 반단티까지는 오늘 여정의 4분의1 밖에 안되는 거리이지만 벌써 4시간이나 결렸다. 그만큼 길이 미끄러웠다. 오을 내려오는 길은 우연히도 원불교회에서 교목이신 두여성 트레커를 만나 한참동안 같이 내려왔다. 종교에 오래 몸을 담았던 탓인가? 얼굴에서 울러나오는 표정이 한없이 평화로워 보였다. 푼힐을 하고 안나푸르나 베이스 캠프까지 트레킹할 계획이라고 했다. 대단하다는 생각 밖에는...
Our guide said that todays course is very likely icy and we shall need to put on spikes. The north faced trail was really icy and slippery. When we reached Deuralli(3,180m) at 11:40AM. It took us two hours in such a short distance. We took a break at Deuralli for about twenty minutes. There is nothing like a hot coffee after a hard walking.
이렇게 먼 걸음후에 뜨거운 커피한자는 피로를 풀어준다.

갈길은 멀다, 아직도 오늘 행정의 4분의1도 못 왔으니... 타데파니(2,630m) 마을에서 안내도 앞에서 동반자 이상일 사장과.
We have a long way to go yet. We've come only a quarter of today's course.
간드룽(1,940m)의 '안나푸르나 롯지'에 도착한 시각은 저녁 6시 25분. 새벽에 푼힐 전망대를 오르내린 두시간 합해서 13시간 정도를 산행한 셈.
We arrived at Annapurna Lodge in Gandrung at 6:25 in the evening. When we add two hours of walking back and forth between the lodge and the Poon Hill, we walked for 13 hours today.

저로서는 감히 생각도 못하는 여정이기에 한없이 놀라면서도, 허리와 다리에 통증을 느끼셨다는 말씀에 박수만을 보낼순 없다는 건방진 생각까지 듭니다. 전체적으로 날씨가 많이 유감스럽습니다.
그래요. 날씨가 너무 협조를 안해줘서 재미는 반감하고 말았지요. 그래서 금년중으로 또 가볼려고 합니다. 반가워요.
